Former Chiodos frontman Craig Owens is returning to Flint for a special acoustic homecoming show on Wednesday, Dec. 18 at Flint Local 432. Ticket are $20 and limited to just 60 seats. Local favorites, Fernando Silverio Solis, Katie Stanley and PINCH, will each perform opening sets to welcome Owens back to the stage of the Local for the first time since 2012.

Owens began performing at Flint Local 432 in the early 2000s, and has remained an influential part of the music scene in both Flint and at a national level ever since. He’s gone on to work as a music producer, DJ and has entered the electronic realm with his solo project badXchannels. Owens has been a touring musician for almost two decades, performing at such venues as the Staples Center and Madison Square Gardens, and as a producer he’s earned collaborative credits alongside legends such as Dr. Dre, John Feldmann, Casey Bates and Dave Botrill.

Opener Fernando Silverio Solis is playing in support of his new EP, Wake Up Slow. A veteran of the Flint scene himself, Solis remembers seeing Owens perform at the start of their careers. “They were just like the rest of us, kids who really dug music. Seeing them play stages that we all started on and eventually move on to huge tours was really something, it was really inspiring,” he said. Now a bit older and with a family, Solis sees the value of all-ages venues, and the importance of making music a lifelong pursuit. “Being able to play the Local makes me feel like I can be a part of that cycle of inspiring youth and making people feel connected.” Doors open at 6:30pm.
