In an effort to create awareness about breast cancer and raise funds for area women in need to receive 3D mammograms, the Flint Firebirds Hockey Club and the McLaren Flint Foundation are partnering for the fifth time. This year’s hockey game fundraiser, Pink Out for Mamms, will take place on Sat., Oct. 12. The puck drops at 7pm at the Dort Federal Event Center. There will be plenty of action both on and off the ice as the Firebirds host the Peterborough Petes in another exciting Ontario Hockey League battle. This year’s pink title sponsor is Pink Par-Tee of Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club Women’s Association.

The Flint Firebirds players will wear special jerseys with the pink breast cancer awareness ribbon on them during the game. The jerseys will be auctioned off at the end of the third period. A 50/50 raffle will take place and special pink merchandise will also be on sale on the concourse.

“We greatly appreciate the Flint Firebirds partnering with us again this year to raise funds for this important cause,” states Doug Glazier, Vice President McLaren Flint Foundation. “We are looking forward to all of the night’s activities at this family friendly event.”

“The Flint Firebirds are excited to partner with the McLaren Flint Foundation again this year in the fight against breast cancer,” says Jeremy Torrey, Flint Firebirds President. “We all have loved ones who have been or could be affected by this disease. Having the ability to make a difference creates a great amount of pride for our fans, players and organization.”

Great seats are still available and can be purchased at the Dort Federal Event Center Box Office, or through ticketmaster.com. From each ticket purchased with the promo code PINK, $4 will go toward helping area women in need receive 3D mammograms at the McLaren Imaging Center.
