The City of Fenton emanates small-town charm with a rich history, abundant lakes, time-honored traditions and most of all, a sense of community. While Fenton has boomed in recent years, attracting big-box stores and many fine restaurants, Downtown Dibbleville has maintained an historic appeal with its unique shops and eateries. All of your shopping needs can be met by the many new businesses that came to town when Silver Parkway was built — from Target and Wal-Mart to car dealerships and retail stores. The city also looks forward to the completion of a $4 million project in Downtown Fenton this year. A four-story, 30,000-square-foot complex called Cornerstone will house a mix of retail, office, dining and residential units. Fenton is known for its recreational opportunities, from kayaking down the Shiawassee River to waterskiing and boating on one of its many lakes, or fishing at Mill Pond Park. In the summer, area residents enjoy plentiful activities: Concerts in the Park, a Farmers’ Market and the Fenton Freedom Festival, which attracts thousands of visitors every year. A strong sense of community however, is what Fenton is really about.
