The orchards at Applewood greeted visitors to the Fall Harvest Festival Saturday on September 28 with heavily laden boughs of ripe apples. A cornucopia of harvest produce was on display, and activities for children had the grounds of the estate filled with laughter as the early autumn sun shone in a cloudless sky. Healthy seasonal snacks were served to the sounds of the bluegrass band, True Blue, and vocalist Eddie Barney. Andrea Bergstrom, Communications Project Coordinator for the Ruth Mott Foundation, says she was thrilled by the turnout: “Attendance was amazing – we had over 3,500 guests!” Andrea believes the draw of Applewood is its tranquility. “We want our guests to feel welcome and to have a beautiful place to call home in their community,” she says.
