Weekend Events for June 27-30


It’s another outstanding weekend in Greater Flint! We’ve got festivals, nostalgia, science, theatre, music and more coming up. There’s almost too much! So, pick a couple events and have a fun-filled weekend. Here’s your weekend events list for June 27-30.

Flint City Bucks vs. FC United Chicago

Support your home town Flint City Bucks as they take on conference rival FC United Chicago. The Bucks are neck-and-neck with FC Chicago for the conference championship. This game could decide who comes out on top at the end of the year.

For-Mar Nature Preserve: Nutrition in the Treehouse

Join a trained nutrition instructor from the Hurley Community Wellness team in For-Mar’s treehouse and learn about nutrition and wellness. Recommended for families of all ages. 2:30-3:30pm.

Burgers & Brews

Enjoy this perfect summer celebration of delicious burgers and ice-cold brews. Sampling tickets are available for purchase and then vote for your favorite celebrity creations. 5-8pm.

80s in the Hole Music & Car Festival

It’s totally rad! Wickedly tubular! It’s 80s in the Hole. Back for its third year, enjoy big hair, big tunes, great food trucks, awesome 80s cars and a live performance, starting at 7pm by the group, RockStar. Gates open at 5:30pm, food, beer tent, vendors, and activities. Bring your best 80s look for a chance to win tickets to Hootie and the Blowfish and Barenaked Ladies on August 16. Park at the Atwood entrance, corner of First Avenue and Stone. Admission: $10. Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate. 5:30-11pm.

The Capitol Theatre presents: An Evening with Home Free

This all vocal (a cappella) country music sensation Home Free is bringing Nashville country standards and country-dipped pop hits. The band comes to town on the heels of their most recent full-length album release, TIMELESS, bringing with them new music and new humor every night. They’ve been busy in the studio the past few months writing, recording and getting ready to release their fifth studio album, which will be available June 2019. 8-10pm.

Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad — Michigan Timber Days

This weekend is Michigan Timber Days at Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad, featuring logging/Paul Bunyan events, lumberjack activities, log-rolling, cross out sawing, competitions and more. It is recommended that Huckleberry Railroad train tickets be purchased in advance as the train often sells out. 10am-5pm.

Fiesta Mexicana

Capitol Theatre presents: Tiffany Jenkins: This Show Is Awkward AF
