Flint Firebirds home games
The Firebirds are coming off a 7-1 victory against the Kingston Frontenacs and now return home for the holidays for two games: Friday, Dec. 28 and Saturday Dec. 29. Puck drop for both contests is slated for 7pm at the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center. Friday, the Firebirds host the Erie Otters for another 4 Pack Friday, (4 tickets, 4 hot dogs and 4 soft drinks) starting at just $60. Saturday, the Firebirds welcome the Windsor Spitfires for the Firebirds’ inaugural Superhero Night.

Christmas at Crossroads — Holiday Magic
Visit Crossroads Village where thousands of lights sparkle like tiny stars throughout the village with live entertainment, model trains, holiday music, costumed villagers making vintage crafts, shops full of great holiday gifts and Santa bringing smiles to faces of all ages. Ride the Huckleberry Railroad for a festive night-time ride. It is recommended that Huckleberry Railroad Train tickets be purchased in advance, as the train often sells out. Open 4-9pm.

UM-Flint Open Ice Skate
Have some family fun skating at the UM-Flint Ice Skating rink. Friday 5-8pm, Saturday and Sunday 12-4pm. Admission is free. Skate Rental $3 or bring you own skates. No hockey sticks/pucks or any other equipment or play items allowed during open skate. Rink may be cleared periodically for ice resurfacing. Rink will close for inclement weather or poor ice conditions.

Kwanzaa Celebration
This celebration honors African heritage in African-American culture from Dec. 26 – Jan. 1, culminating in a feast and gift-giving. Kwanzaa has seven core principles (Nguzo Saba). Food gifts, and crafts will be provided each day. Different organizations will be leading the presentation for each day. 1-3pm.

The Whiting’s New Year’s Eve Gala is known as the finest event in Flint to ring in the New Year in style.
