McLaren Family Residency Center is pleased to welcome board-certified family and sports medicine physician, Hussein Saghir, DO, CAQSM, to its practice. Dr. Saghir completed a fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine through Wayne State University School of Medicine at Detroit Medical Center and a residency in family medicine at Genesys Regional Medical Center. He received his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
With more than five years of experience, Dr. Saghir has provided sports medical care to all of Detroit’s professional athletic teams and also treats the general public, recreational athletes, and “weekend warriors.” Services include diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic overuse injuries, joint disease, concussions, arthritis, chronic tendon issues and bone fractures, including casting and splinting. Dr. Saghir also provides diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasounds, ultrasound guided percutaneous needle tenotomy (PNT) procedures, pain management injections, osteopathic manipulative treatment, and sports physicals.
