CALLING ALL BIKERS:

It’s the perfect time to find out a little more about what Flint has to offer! One great place to start is the Flint River Trail, which runs 17 miles from UM-Flint and Court Street and includes highlights such as Bluebell Beach and Stepping Stone Falls. If you don’t want to bike alone, the Friends of the Flint River Trail lead bike rides every Sunday from May-October, starting at 2pm from the Flint Farmer’s Market.

Bike Safety for Youth & Free Bikes!

The Berston Bicycle Club Project is a bike safety and healthy living program for Flint Youth (ages 10-18) offering two nine-week sessions in the summer. Each participant who completes the program, by biking with the group at least twice a week, gets a free bike, helmet and other safety gear! For more info, visit placemaking.mml.org/how-to/the-berston-bicycle-club-project.

Need to borrow a bike?

Flint offers bike rentals through the Flint Bike Share Project. A collaboration of UM-Flint Walk & Bike Group, Genesee County Parks, the Flint River Corridor Alliance and others, the program uses Zagster, a free mobile app, to give anyone the chance to borrow a bike. The first half-hour rental is free, and then two dollars per hour after that. For details and locations, visit bike.zagster.com/flint.
