Hurley Medical Center continues its mission of providing Clinical Excellence, Service to People by making care more convenient for people in and around Burton. An open house was scheduled for April 12 to give the community a chance to see the new Hurley Urgent Care of Burton and Hurley’s relocated Diabetes Center and Food FARMacy.
Now, when families have sore throats, flu, sprains, burns or are in need of physicals exams, they can get the care they need at five Genesee County locations – Burton, Flint, Grand Blanc, Durand and Lapeer.
The Hurley Diabetes Center helps you learn how to control your diabetes so you can live a healthy life. We teach you what diabetes is, what puts you at risk for getting diabetes, blood sugar monitoring, diabetes medicines, including insulin pump, how to stay healthy with diabetes and what to eat.
For patients identified as food insecure by their primary care providers, our grant-funded Food FARMacy is more than just a place where families in need can get healthy meals. It’s a lifeline. At a time when the link between health and nutrition has never been more relevant, Hurley is committed to providing patients with not only access to healthy food, but also the resources to assist them long-term.
