Genesys Welcomes New Physicians

Three physicians have joined the employed staff at Genesys: Steven Brooks, DO, Cardiologist and Michael Collins, MD and David Luebbert, MD, both Primary Care Physicians.

Dr. Steven Brooks has joined the Genesys Heart Institute Physician Group (GHIPG). He graduated from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine at Genesys. Dr. Brooks recently completed a fellowship in cardiology at Genesys. Board certified in internal medicine and echocardiography, he is board eligible in cardiovascular disease and will be taking the cardiology board certification soon. Dr. Brooks’ areas of expertise include electrocardiography, echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and preventive cardiology. Dr. Brooks is now accepting new patients. Dr. Michael Collins, a family medicine physician, has joined Dr. Melanie Pendergrass at Genesys Primary Care Grand Blanc, located at 8392 Holly Rd., where he will care for patients of all ages – infant to adult. Dr. Collins recently completed his family medicine residency at Genesys and chose to remain in the Grand Blanc community. He earned his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean in St. Marteen, Netherlands, Antilles. Dr. Collins is board certified in family medicine and is a member of the American Association of Family Practitioners and American College of Preventive Medicine. He is accepting new patients. Dr. David Luebbert is currently seeing patients at the Genesys Family Health Center located at East Flint campus, 1460 Center Rd. in Burton. Dr. Luebbert will provide general medical care for family members of all ages. In addition, he will serve as a faculty member for the Genesys Family Medicine Residency program. Dr. Luebbert recently completed his residency in family medicine at Genesys and served as Chief Resident during PGY – two and three years. He obtained his medical degree from St. Matthew’s University located in Grand Cayman island. He is currently a member of the American Medical Association, American Board of Family Medicine and American Academy of Family Physicians.
