Genesys Presents Tree of Love Event to Help Cancer Patients

0

Genesys Health Foundation, in partnership with the Holly community, will host the first Tree of Love event Wednesday, Dec. 2 at 6 pm in the atrium of Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc Township. The evening will include music from the Holly Dickens Music Festival, a brief program, more entertainment  from the Holly Dickens characters, and refreshments.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from this fundraiser will go to help Genesys cancer patients who need financial assistance. Donations to the Tree of Love are used for medical equipment, transportation to and from medical appointments, private pay home care, a day of respite for the family, prescriptions and medical services not covered by insurance, and special funding for other needs (eg rent or mortgage payments, auto repairs, gas, utility payments).

The Tree of Love is a 25 foot tall tree comprised of 700 poinsettia plants, which will stand in the hospital atrium beginning Thanksgiving weekend and through the holidays.

On Dec. 2, cancer survivors and families of those who lost their fight against cancer, will gather to remember loved ones and celebrate the life of cancer survivors.
