Welcome to My City Wellness!

Your subscription to Greater Flint’s premiere publication – My City Magazine – now includes our new quarterly magazine. We created this magazine to present a fresh take on health info with a local connection and presented with the signature My City style.

Our team has been working on bringing a new wellness publication concept to Flint for over a year. When I started to research the idea, my goal was to offer valuable information and content that engages you with its uniqueness and visual appeal. I feel that this inaugural issue is a representation of My City’s dedication to quality magazine publishing.

It’s no secret: we currently live in a world where we’re overloaded with health and wellness information on the Internet; it’s waiting every morning in your Inbox, pops up every few minutes on your phone. But, from what I’ve heard, people still look for and appreciate having something tangible and interesting to flip through that has both character and credibility.

This magazine contains articles on topical health subjects, and human interest features that we’re honored to share with you. Gracing our inaugural cover is Dr. Sumathi Mukkamala, “A Mother to Many.” I know you’ll enjoy our story of this respected physician who has touched many lives, both locally and globally. And, little Kaleb Turner and his family are friends of our team – the story of Kaleb’s “Unbreakable Spirit” will touch your heart, as well as inform you.

In addition to well-written stories about local people who inspire us, these pages are filled with a variety of content offered by Greater Flint health care professionals – ten contributors in this issue, and the list is growing. The area’s top hospitals are also represented by leaders in their fields, as well as Kettering University with some groundbreaking research happening right here in Flint. You’ll find topics from teen heart screening to dementia, and a lot of things in between. This will be your favorite local magazine for information about health, innovation, nutrition, fitness, awareness and prevention. If there is a subject you’d like to see covered in our January issue, please let us know.

I hope you enjoy the first issue of My City Wellness!

Thanks for reading,
