Since 1966, the Flint Symphonic Wind Ensemble (FSWE) has been delighting area music lovers by playing wonderful holiday concerts. This Tuesday the FSWE will be hosting their “Jingle All the Way” holiday concert at Flint Central Church of The Nazarene, located at 1261 W. Bristol road, at 7pm.

The concert will feature the music of Holst, Handel, Franz Biebl, Leroy Anderson and Danny Elfman. Admission is free but please consider providing a donation to benefit the Salvation Army Youth Band in Flint.

The FSWE began in 1966 as the “Flint Civic Wind Ensemble” organized by Donald C. Clough and sponsored by the Flint Community Music Association. The mission of the organization is to provide access to practice and performance for adult musicians, and to provide music education and entertainment for the community. The FSWE offers approximately 6 or more concerts per year in high schools, middle schools and multiple venues throughout the city.

The band is open to adults, aged 19 or over, who can read music and attend the practice and performance schedule of the band.
