Enjoy an old-fashioned ice cream social and a carnival midway, 10am to 5pm, July 4 at Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad, 6140 Bray Rd., Flint MI.

The Flint 4th of July Festival is a 4-day event! Carnival rides, games, vendors and much more will take over Flint’s Downtown Entertainment District, 407 S. Saginaw St., from July 2-5. Fireworks are scheduled for the night of July 3 at dusk.

The whole family is sure to enjoy Clio’s Annual Family Fun Day, July 4, at Clio City Park, 402 N. Mill St. The day kicks off at 2pm and will be filled with family and kids’ games, a pie-eating contest, concerts and other activities. Fireworks are scheduled for 10:20pm.

The Fenton Annual Freedom Festival offers a full day of activities that kicks off with a parade at 10am. Following the parade is an assortment of activities including a Rubber Ducky Regatta, Chicken BBQ, arts and crafts and more! All Events are held in Downtown at the Gazebo and the Fenton Community & Cultural Center, 150 S. Leroy St. Don’t forget the impressive firework show at 10pm in the Silver Lake Park Area.

Barber Park in Montrose Township, 11410 Seymour Rd., will host fireworks at dusk on July 4. There will also be a petting zoo, concessions, the launching of sky lanterns and music provided by a local DJ.

Free City Art Festival returns for 2015 on July 3-4, Downtown Flint at Chevy Commons. The theme this year is “Being Here: Presence in Place & Time” and will focus on the existence of individuals in a specific time and place. The festival will include music, dance, and theater performances, art installations and hands-on workshops. The event is free and open to the public.

The village of Holly has two remarkable July 4 firework shows. The first will take place at dusk at Lakeside Memorial Park. The second, at Groveland Oaks Campground, 14555 Dixie Hwy. features an entire weekend full of entertainment and activities for all ages. Fireworks will be on July 4 at dusk. Entry into the campground is $10 or free with an Oakland County Parks and Recreation Vehicle Permit.
