Liesbeth Verastegui Fernandez received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and Master’s degree in Nutrition Education from Andrews University. With over 25 years of experience as a clinical dietitian in inpatient, outpatient and community settings, her experience includes work for Johns Hopkins Medical Center (Baltimore, MD), Montefiore Medical Center (Bronx, NY), Montefiore Medical Group (Bronx, NY), Vegetarian Institute of Nutrition and Culinary Arts (Columbia, MD), McLaren Weight Management Center (Flint, MI), Dimensions in Food and Nutrition (Burtonsville, MD), Women, Infants and Children (South Bend, IN). She has experience counseling multiple conditions including: hypertension, hyperlipidemia, obesity, gastrointestinal conditions, diabetes, AIDS, pregnancy and pediatric patients, and many others. She has lectured internationally, written various articles and given numerous presentations on health and wellness. She is a past co-president of the Genesee County Medical Society Alliance. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Michigan Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Southeastern Michigan Dietetic Association.
