The Pre-St. Patrick’s Day party is a fundraiser held annually to raise money for Flint’s St. Patty’s Day Parade and festivities. Hosted by the parade’s Grand Marshal, the party features traditional Irish food and libations, Irish music performed live by Bill Tucker, and the Miss Hibernia Pageant, which awards nearly $2,000 in scholarships. The 2014 Grand Marshal is Mike Donlan. “The Grand Marshal is not an honorary title by any means; there is a lot of work to accompany the merriment,” said Bob Slattery, President of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. “This party helps to pay for our St. Patrick’s Day celebration. It is always a lot of fun!”
